A Chinese yellow and russet brown jade rhyton 17th century, each side carved in high relief with a sinuous chilong dragon upon a ground of formal scroll diaper, the cup's terminal carved as a bifurcated scroll, 13cm. Cf. J Rawson, Chinese Jade from the Neolithic to the Qing, no.29:8, also Chinese Jade Throughout the Ages, an exhibition organised by the Arts Council of Great Britain and the Oriental Ceramic Society, 1975, no.308 for similar rhytons.
