A small Chinese celadon jade carving of two fungi 18th/19th century, one with a cicada, clinging to the cap, 4.1cm. The lingzhi fungus grows at the roots of trees. It was reputed to have medicinal qualities and to have grown on the Islands of the Blessed, therefore called the Fungus of Immortality.
