A SMALL JAPANESE CLOISONNE ENAMEL VASE BY NAMIKAWA YASUYUKI (1854-1927)
MEIJI ERA, c.1905-10

The tall and slender body elegantly decorated with a small bird, possibly a Java sparrow, perched on a flowering branch of prunus, the design rendered in polychrome enamels and gold wires on the deep aubergine ground, the rims with shakudo rings and the base with a square silver tablet inscribed Kyoto Namikawa, 14.2cm.
