THREE JAPANESE OVOID JARS
EDO PERIOD, 17TH CENTURY
All three of bulbous shape with a straight neck, one decorated in underglaze blue with chrysanthemum issuing from rockwork between bands of lappets, together with a wood box; another painted in iron-red with peonies and other blooms under tasselled curtains; the third an Imari jar with birds perched amongst pine, prunus and bamboo, the shoulder with panels of beribboned auspicious objects, 19.7cm max. (4)
