FOUR JAPANESE TEA BOWLS
EDO PERIOD, 17TH CENTURY

The first embellished with flowerheads linked by leafy scrolls; another with flowering prunus in a garden; the third left blank, with a subtle white slip decoration of chrysanthemum flowerheads and scrolling tendrils; the last with a scalloped rim and painted with pomegranates to the well, three floral sprays to the reverse, 8.4cm max. (4)
