A RARE JAPANESE KO-IMARI JAR
EDO PERIOD, C.1660-70
The cylindrical body decorated in iron-red, green, black and yellow enamels, with panels of flowers and bamboo alternating with brocade patterns and shippo-tsunagi cash designs, the shoulder with a band of lappets and the neck rim and foot with several concentric rings, a label reading 'OCS 2006, THE WORLD IN COLOURS, no.66', 20.3cm.
