A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE KENDI

WANLI 1573-1620

The ovoid body with a tall flared neck and a bulbous spout, painted with panels of flowers, birds and fruit, together with a brown-glazed bottle vase, decorated in slip with tall flower stems, and a wucai incense burner painted with figures divided by fish emerging from waves, all beneath lotus flowers, 20.8cm. (3)

Provenance: a European private collection, acquired 1965-85.
