A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE MOULDED LOTUS DISH

WANLI 1573-1620

The shallow body with a scalloped rim, painted to the interior with lappets containing shou characters and flowers, all encircling four butterflies, moulded to the underside with twelve petals radiating from the foot, each containing a swastika, and with further shou characters and flowers, 19.8cm.

Provenance: a private collection, Holland Park, London.
