A Chinese celadon jade model of a lion-like beast, probably late Ming. Recumbent with its body elegantly curved around, with its head turned to the left, the well defined backbone terminating in a bifid tail, the stone with black and brown striations, 6.5cm. Raised on a hardwood stand. (2) Provenance: from a Scottish private collection and formerly in the collection of the late Lady Anne Mackenzie Stuart (d.2007).
