A Chinese red cinnabar lacquer vase, 18th / early 19th century. The quatre-lobed body decorated with four panels of figures in landscapes at leisure and in other pursuits, on a ground of formal stylized scrolling foliage, the neck with stiff leaves, minor surface damage, 31.5cm. Cf. Carving the Subtle Radiance of Colors, Treasured Lacquerware in the National Palace Museum, p.155, No.166 for a similar example.
