A CHINESE PLATE

KANGXI 1662-1722

Enamelled in England c.1760-70 in the Imari manner in iron-red and gilt with three ogee-petal panels reserved on a diamond diaper ground, alternating with a gilt figure of a European man holding a bundle on the end of a stick, the border with red and gilt floral detailing, 22.6cm.

Provenance: the Helen Espir Collection, no.459. Purchased from Geoffrey Waters.
