A GOOD CHINESE DINGYAO SHALLOW DISH

SONG DYNASTY 960-1279 AD

Finely incised to the interior with a single lotus flower, with swirling leafy tendrils extending onto the wide flaring rim, a paper label for The British Antique Dealers' Association to the reverse, the lobed edge mounted with a metal band, 20.5cm.

Provenance: from the Estate of George Harwood (d.1985), and thence by descent.

Cf. Illustrated Catalogue of Sung Dynasty Porcelain in the National Palace Museum, Ting Ware and Ting-type Ware, pl.41, where a dish of similar form and decoration is illustrated.
