A RARE CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE KENDI
15TH/16TH CENTURY
Made for the Islamic market, unusually formed after a leather water bag, the crescent-shaped body raised on four short feet and with a narrow spout to one end, with a tall garlic-mouthed neck to the centre, a pointed finial to each end, decorated with a diamond-shaped cartouche containing dense geometric designs and cloud scrolls, 22.4cm.
