A rare pair of Chinese beakers and saucers c.1769, decorated with the arms of Fitzroy, Duke of Grafton accolle with Fitzroy impaling Wrottesley, the beakers more simply decorated with the crest and a crowned G amidst scattered flowers, a small chip to one beaker, 13.6cm. (4) Provenance: the 10th Duke of Grafton sale, Puttick and Simpson, 1965. The Clifford Henderson collection. Augustus Henry, 3rd Duke of Grafton, was the great-grandson of King Charles II and Prime Minister of England between 1768 and 1770.
