A pair of Chinese armorial teacups c.1761, painted with the arms of Pocock impaling Drake, within enamelled borders of crowns and endless knots, the sides with birds and flowers, 9cm. (2) Provenance: the Clifford Henderson collection. Admiral Sir George Pocock, for whom the service was made, was a distinguished sailor, whose monument is in Westminster Abbey.
