A Chinese armorial coffee cup and saucer c.1782, decorated with the arms of Wodehouse with Berkeley in pretence, within narrow garland borders, the cup's handle with floral terminals, 12.6cm. (2) Provenance: the Clifford Henderson collection. Purchased from Heirloom and Howard in 1999. Sir Armine Wodehouse, 5th Baronet, was a British Member of Parliament, succeeded to the Baronetcy in 1797 by his eldest son, Sir John Wodehouse. His descendants include the statesman Sir John Wodehouse, 1st Earl of Kimberley, and the author P.G. Wodehouse.
