A fine Chinese armorial plate c.1752, painted with the arms of Charles-Louis, Duke of Lorraine-Harcourt (1725-61), within foliate branches of gilt, red and black, 22.8cm. Provenance: the Clifford Henderson collection. This service was made for Charles, Duke of Lorraine, Governor of the Netherlands and brother of Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor and father of Marie Antoinette.
