A good pair of Chinese red cinnabar lacquer bowls 16th / 17th century, each finely carved with two birds perched on flowering branches, separated by rockwork on a flower cell diaper ground, the rims with key fret, and with stylized bands above the feet, each with a metal liner, one with a metal base plate, 11cm. (2) Provenance: formerly from the collection of Gaston Lévy, Paris.
