A rare Chinese celadon jade carving of a mythical deer Song dynasty 960-1279AD, recumbent with its hooves drawn under the body, his head with incised ears and a lobed crest, holding a large lingzhi spray in his mouth, the stone with warm russet blushes and cream-coloured inclusions, 6cm. Provenance: a South African private collection.
