A CHINESE CELADON GU-SHAPED VASE
LATE QING DYNASTY
The central bulbous section finely carved with four peony blooms amongst scrolling leafy tendrils, with raised flanges forming the stems of stiff pendant leaves to the flared neck and foot, all covered in a subtle bluish-green glaze, 18.6cm.
Provenance: from the collection of MME Calliope Sotirades (1910-84), who collected internationally between the 1930s and 1980s, and then bequeathed to her godson.
