A Chinese agate pendant 19th century, formed as a section of bamboo, the front carved in relief with a bird of paradise perched on a blossoming magnolia branch, the stone in russet and orange, a green glass bead to the suspension cord, 4.5cm.

The bird of paradise and the plum blossom seen together represent longevity and marital fidelity.
