A Chinese cizhou bottle vase, yuhuchunping Jin dynasty 1115-1234 AD, the pear-shaped body rising to a flared neckrim, decorated with a deep brown glaze and carved with concentric bands and continuous scrolling foliate designs to reveal the pale body beneath, 27.5cm.

Provenance: the collection of Andrew Williams Esq., Oxfordshire. Purchased from Sotheby's, London, 8th November 2006, lot 286.
