A CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE BOTTLE VASE

PROBABLY LATE QING DYNASTY

The compressed circular body painted with medallions formed as pairs of stylised dragons and lingzhi, all surrounded by scrolling foliage and ruyi-heads above a band of lappets, the shoulder decorated with interlocking panels enclosing lotus flowerheads, with ruyi-head and key fret borders to the mouthrim, the base with a six character Qianlong mark, 35.5cm.

Provenance: Sotheby's London, 26th July 1984, lot 228; and then a private collection, London.
