A CHINESE CLOISONNE HU-SHAPED VASE

MING/QING DYNASTY

The pear-shaped body decorated with lotus flowerheads and scrolling foliage against a turquoise ground, the design divided by dark blue bands containing simple blossoms and leaves, with two applied lion head masks suspending loose rings to the sides, all raised on a tall flared foot, 34cm.

Provenance: from a Scottish private collection acquired in London in 1967 and thence by descent.
