A MONGOLIAN REPOUSSE AND INCISED COPPER RECTANGULAR INCENSE BURNER AND COVER

With a silvered cover and silver applied ornamentation, on one side are the Ashtamangala (the Eight Auspicious Symbols), on the other side are images of the Seven Precious Objects, at both ends are silver lion faces, each with a copper loop in his mouth, the cover replicates a Buddhist temple rooftop surmounted by a Chakra (the Wheel of Law) between two kneeling antelopes, symbolising Buddha's first sermon in the Deer Park near Benares, 38.6cm, 958g.
