Accompanied by a copy of a letter dated 1st June 1843 and a transcription, the letter from Thomas Miller to his aunt Mrs Cumming Bruce.

Thomas Miller entered the Navy in 1833, and after serving as Mate on the Mediterranean, Home, and East India stations he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant 22nd July 1844.
