A Japanese wood netsuke of a Dutchman 18th century, standing holding a cockerel, wearing a large hat with feathers, dressed in a long buttoned jacket with ruffled collar decorated with waves, his eyes inlaid with horn, unsigned, 8.2cm.

Provenance: from the collection of the 2nd Viscount Bearsted, and thence by descent.
