A Japanese wood netsuke carved in the form of a tea-kettle c.1880, the side of the body decorated with a Chinese poem in hiramaki-e, the spout and turned handle in kyusu shape and probably of bone, unsigned, 2.2cm.

Provenance: from the collection of the 2nd Viscount Bearsted, and thence by descent.
