A Chinese famille rose green ground ovoid jar six character Jiaqing mark and of the period 1796-1820, brightly enamelled with a fruiting melon vine, butterflies, flowerheads and leafy tendrils, the rim and base glazed turquoise, 20.5cm.

Provenance: from the collection of Luís Esteves Fernandes (1897-1988).
