A rare Chinese Imperial porcelain famille rose abstinence plaque Qianlong 1736-95, the gourd-shaped body painted to one side zhai jie in Chinese, the other with Manchu characters bolgomi karga, all within gilt rims and amidst scrolling flowering vines, bats and small gourds on yellow and green grounds, a silk tassel for suspension mounted with turquoise beads, 6.6cm.

Provenance: from the collection of Luís Esteves Fernandes (1897-1988).
