A rare Chinese kesi textile abstinence plaque for the Dragon boat festival 18th/19th century, one side marked zhai jie in Chinese, the other with Manchu characters bolgomi karga, with the 'Qing five poison' insects and amphibians surrounding the text, 8.2cm.

Provenance: from the collection of Luís Esteves Fernandes (1897-1988).
