A rare Chinese celadon jade back massager

A rare Chinese celadon jade back massager, tai ping che 19th century, with five beads carved with cloud scrolls separated by six smaller spinach-green jade beads, a gilt metal dragon's head mount and a white jade handle carved with a phoenix, 21.3cm.

Provenance: from the collection of Luís Esteves Fernandes (1897-1988).
