A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE 'BARAGON TUMED' BOWL 20TH CENTURY Painted to the exterior with deities and animals, divided by gold animal masks with suspended tassels, all between bands of shou characters and the bajixiang, with lotus petals surrounding a double vajra to the well, a two character iron-red Baragon Tumed mark in Mongolian script the base, 22cm. Cf. S Jennings, Later Chinese Porcelain, pl.CXII for another bowl of the same design. The original service was made for the daughter of the Daoguang Emperor, who married a Mongolian prince of the Tumed banner.
