A MASSIVE CHINESE GOLD AND SILVER INLAID BRONZE ARCHAISTIC INCENSE BURNER
LATE MING/QING DYNASTY
The compressed circular body with six flanges, decorated with taotie masks inlaid with gold and silver beneath a band of archaistic mythical beasts on a dense diaper ground, the flared neck with a band of archaistic lappets and two high handles with circular bosses rising from the rim, all raised on three curved feet, 56.5cm high, 32kg.
