A CHINESE PARCEL-GILT ARCHAISTIC BRONZE DING
LATE MING DYNASTY
With a circular body divided by four flanges and decorated with taotie masks against a dense cash pattern, with two loop handles rising from the rim, all supported on three tall dragon mask-shaped legs, 17.8cm, 1.4kg.
Provenance: from the collection of Professor Peter H Plesch and Mrs Traudi Plesch OBE and thence by descent, collection no.Bh18, purchased from Bluett London, in 1959 for £32.10.
