Thakur Ganga Singh embarked on his artistic journey at the Forest Research Institute in Dehra Dun, later refining his skills at the Slade in London in 1931. Maharajah Yadhavindra Singh commissioned over 400 watercolor depictions of Simla Hills flora and Singh became a permanent member of His Highness' staff. Singh's contributions to botanical art were widely recognized, and he gained the title 'Rai Sahib' in his later years.
