A pair of Chinese blue and white porcelain small bowls Wanli c.1580, both painted with scenes of a horse with its rider, dignitaries carrying hu tablets and a deer amidst trees, pagodas and rocks, the interior roundels each painted with a single figure in a fenced garden, below an inner rim of cross diaper, each base with a two character Zhen Yi mark, 11.8cm. (2) Provenance: a private American collection in California, purchased from Peter Wain, 24th March 2002.
