*A rare Chinese early Ming white glazed bowl Yongle period 1403-24, the deeply rounded sides with anhua decoration of a finely incised chrysanthemum scroll beneath a key fret rim, the interior with faint stiff leaf bands, two rim cracks, 20.5cm dia. Provenance: acquired in Beijing in the early 20th century by the Guazzoni family of Piedmont, Italy. Cf. Christie's, New York, 16th October 2001, lot 133 for a similar example which is illustrated in M. Komor, Imperial Porcelains of the Ming Dynasty, no.23, where it is described as a pair.
