A rare pair of Chinese famille rose vases second half 18th century, the quatre-lobed bodies finely painted, each with two panels containing ladies and children, and with smaller panels of birds, set against a blue chicken skin and scroll moulded ground, with rich gilded details, 27.2cm. (2) Cf. J. Wirgin, Fran Kina Till Europa, Othasiatiska Museet Stockholm 1998, no.113 for a pair of related vases with a similar ground.
