A CHINESE ENAMELLED YIXING BOTTLE VASE
SIGNED SHEN XI, DAOGUANG 1821-50

The ovoid body below a tall neck and garlic-head rim, the body decorated with an impressed diaper pattern, below famille rose sprays of prunus, chrysanthemum and orchids on a blue ground to the shoulder, the neck with an applied twisted band below enamelled plantain leaves rising to the rim, on a waisted foot decorated with famille rose stylised floral scrolls on a blue ground, the base with two impressed marks, one for Shen Xi and the other reading bai, 22.7cm.
