LATE QING DYNASTY

Decorated with a continuous scene of scholars at leisure within a fenced garden before two screens, one depicting rolling waves and the other a mountainous landscape, the gentlemen admire scrolls, play qin and weiqi, drink tea and converse, 47.2cm.

Provenance: from a British private collection, formed 1970-2003; purchased from Christie's, London, 4th March 1999, lot 384.
