A LARGE CHINESE ARCHAISTIC CELADON GLAZED VASE
LATE QING DYNASTY
The ovoid body surmounted by a short neck, carved with taotie masks set between lappets and stylised motifs, all raised on a short foot, decorated all over in a sage green glaze, 43.7cm.
Provenance: from the collection of Sir Thomas (12th January 1888-10th October 1969) and Lady Merton, Stubbings House, Maidenhead, Berkshire, and thence by descent.
