A NEAR PAIR OF CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE 'DRAGON' BOWLS

FOUR CHARACTER KANGXI MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD 1662-1722

Each painted to the exterior with two scaly dragons in pursuit of sacred jewels, the beasts surrounded by stylised flames, with continuous scrolls bordering the rims and bands of ruyi-heads encircling the feet, the well of each with a medallion enclosing a further dragon, 9.7cm dia. (2)

Provenance: from an English private collection, Wiltshire.
