A ROMAN GLASS VASE AND A PERSIAN POTTERY BOTTLE VASE

C.2ND AND C.14TH CENTURY

The Roman vase rising from an ovoid body to a narrow cylindrical neck which flares at the rim, with iridescence to the exterior, the Persian vase with a pear-shaped body surmounted by a tall flaring neck, decorated in blue and black with stylised patterns, 14.5cm and 23cm. (2)

Provenance: from a private collection, UK and USA. The Roman vase purchased from Bluett & Sons on 2nd May 1969 and the Persian vase acquired from H M Luther Antiques, London, on 20th June 1969.
