LATE QING DYNASTY/REPUBLIC PERIOD
The compressed body raised on three short feet, carved in high relief with flowering gnarled prunus branches wrapped around the body, the stone of a pale brown colour with some russet markings, together with an openwork wood stand, 13cm. (2)
Provenance: formerly a private collection, London, formed c.1959-1963. Purchased from Chuen Koo Chai Dealers in Ancient Chinese Arts & Curio, Hong Kong, on 16th November 1955. A copy of the invoice is available. Lots 79-84 and 692-694 are all from the same collection.
