A CHINESE MANDARIN PALETTE 'HUNTING SCENE' PUNCH BOWL
18TH CENTURY
Brightly painted to the exterior with two large panels enclosing European huntsmen on horseback in a wooded landscape, they ride alongside their packs of hounds as they chase a fox, with smaller panels containing birds dividing the scenes, all reserved on an iron-red and gilt-decorated geometric ground, the well with a medallion depicting a further figure holding a gun as his dogs flush out a pair of pheasants, 36.5cm.
