A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE ORMOLU-MOUNTED JAR
THE PORCELAIN 18TH CENTURY, THE MOUNTS 19TH CENTURY
Painted in enamels and underglaze blue with blossoming prunus branches and peony blooms growing amidst rocks, with areas of detail picked out in gilt, the foot and rim with European ormolu mounts, the vase approx 22cm, 74cm overall.
Provenance: from the collection of the late Hubert René Joseph Georges Faure (1919-2020). Hubert Faure was the first husband of Elizabeth (Bessie) de Cuevas, who married when she was nineteen. Bessie was the daughter of Margaret Rockefeller, granddaughter of John D Rockefeller.
