A CHINESE LONGQUAN CELADON 'DUCK' INCENSE BURNER

MING DYNASTY

The bird depicted standing upon pierced rockwork with its head turned to the left, with its beak slightly agape, finely detailed with its wing and tail feathers, one wing forming the cover, decorated all over in a dark greyish-green glaze, 16.5cm. (2)

Provenance: formerly the collection of Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Dingwall (1869-1946). Previously sold at Sotheby's London, 6th May 1936, lot 29.
