A large Thai Mon-Dvaravati style bronze figure of Buddha, standing with both hands forming vitarka mudra, the robe covering both shoulders and falling from the wrist to follow the contours of the body, the undergarments visible beneath, cast with long earlobes, a narrow face and down cast eyes, with lips forming a smile, 8th to 9th century, 33cm. Provenance: An English private collection, purchased from Spink and son Ltd in July 1995.
