A massive Chinese pottery model of batrian camel, with a detachable rider, the beast well modelled standing with its head raised and baring its teeth, the rider with his arms raised and facing forward, painted with red and brown earth pigments, Tang dynasty 618-907 AD, and with a modern rectangular stand, minor restoration, 93.5cm high.
